 Janet Matie Pinnick is a passionate, dedicated actress and writer. Originating from Edmonton, Alberta, she comes from a large family of Nigerian and Canadian heritage. After being exposed to films and theatre at an early age, Janet came to recognize with great zeal, her desire to act.

     Janet attended the University of Alberta, pursuing a degree in Arts, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Drama. In addition to school, she began studying at an acting studio, in addition to private singing and music lessons. Shortly thereafter, she landed her first television and theatre roles. After graduating with an Arts degree Janet made the decision, with her family's full support, to dedicate herself to a professional career in acting. This eventually led her to the decision to relocate to Vancouver, B.C.
Once there she quickly landed a role in the CBC television series Da Vinci's Inquest. Janet went on to study at local acting studios, before finding a home at the Seacoast Theatre Centre where she studied classical and contemporary theatre, film, and television for more than 3 years. She also went on to act in several of their theatre company's productions. Janet continued her studies at the Lyric School of Acting, and has gone on to work with such teachers as Larry Moss, and David Smuckler. She has also worked with experienced voice and movement teacher Olivia Olsen and Alexander Technique teacher Penny Silver for several years.

     Janet has had the opportunity to work on TV shows for ABC, FOX, USA Network, Disney, Showcase and Lifetime Network, in addition to work on commercials and print, and was invited to be a guest on the talk show Urban Rush.

     Janet now proudly calls Toronto home were she continues to hone her skills and stretch her range as an actress. Janet will undoubtedly go wherever her career takes her with the love and support of her family. She continues to pursue acting, writing and every business endeavour with dedication, hard work, persistence, passion and integrity.
